I have known Barbara for nearly 20 years through our work in organizational development, teaching at American University, community work and the National Training Laboratory. Through those contacts I grew easily to love Barbara. I will miss her greatly. A short story that is very meaningful to me.... I spent a week putting down Barbara's wood sub floor in her basement when she first moved into her beloved house several years ago. I was happy to make it a gift to her as she was so excited about being able to use it for her dancing. After completing the sub floor, I never got back to see how she finished it, but have gotten second hand information that she enjoyed it greatly. I hope that was the case. I often think of her there and enjoying her freedom through dance and meditation. During the work she played a DVD of South African music which I commented on liking a lot. When I finished and was leaving, Barbara gave me the DVD, which I still play today after nearly 13 years. So like Barbara to know what touches one's heart.
